Planking

Planking on walls is a popular trend in the decorating world.  Along with actual planks that can be used, New England Classic also offers sheets of 4x8 paneling that can be used to complete this DIY wall planking project. Our paneling makes your planking project easier, quicker, and more cost effective.

We offer random plank paneling in many prefinished wood grain patterns and colors, as well randomly grooved natural wood veneer panels that can be painted or stained.  Both types of paneling will allow you to achieve the look and style that the Perfectly Imperfect blogger shows in her dining room transformation; a modern trend based on an old style.  The style she is using in her blog www.perfectlyimperfectblog.com revamps what used to be considered ‘cheap’ or ‘dated’ paneling.  In additon to the random plank paneling on the walls, they used beadboard pattern paneling as the back of the shelves that were built on either side of the window in this dining room, a common use for beadboard paneling (back wall of shelving units, cabinet, cabinet doors, etc.).  New England Class also offers beadboard paneling and you may mix and match paneling styles on a single order, if you like.

We offer a product that will help you achieve a the look detailed on the blog referred to above. To simplify the project even more, our white-washed look factory laminated finish on two of our panels will allow you to acquire the desired look shown in the blog without having to paint. Either “American Pecan” or “Almond Elm” Random Pattern/9-Groove paneling can be used for this paint-free project. Both of these options have a white-washed, factory laminated finish.  To go with a solid, painted finish, use our Birch Veneer Random Groove Paneling which can either be painted or stained once it is installed. When selecting your desired finish, it is important to remember that if you select “veneer” or “unfinished” you will need to plan to stain or paint it.  However, most of our paneling is laminated and does not require any added finish.
