Raised Panel WainscotingIn our previous post, we discussed some great ideas for applying raised panel wainscoting in your home. In this blog, we will continue with offering you some great ideas.  These will be sure to have your family and friends complimenting the beauty of your home.

If you are wanting to achieve the feel of a lakeside retreat, try this. Apply your raised panel wainscoting floor-to-ceiling. Paint the wainscoting a soft white, and let the furniture do the rest.  Use rustic looking furniture and lake themed accents. These are a natural extension of the room's architectural and follows through with its cottage theme.

If you want to wow your guests from the moment they enter your home, apply raised panel wainscoting in the foyer.  For a cathedral-height foyer, use a square patterned wainscoting and apply about two- thirds the way up the wall.  Pair this with a checkered floor and a beautiful chandelier. This allows you to take full advantage of your soaring ceilings.

Here is another idea for your foyer that will be sure to provide your guests with both a welcoming and intimate feel. If you have a two story foyer, install your raised panel up to standard ceiling height. This visually lowers the ceiling.

In lieu of framed artwork, a continuous wall of wainscoting provides visual interest while maintaining a clean minimalist aesthetic. This is a beautiful application for hallways. Paint it white for a cool, crisp feel.

You can add wainscoting to just about any surface, including doorways. To prevent the moldings from feeling heavy, keep the paint color just a shade or two lighter from the existing wall color. This looks beautiful in large open doorways.
