In our previous post, we explored some great ideas for beadboard wainscoting. In this post, we will give you even more great ideas. Beadboard Wainscoting is a traditional style of wall paneling that is made of grooved panels or with interlocking tongue and groove natural wood planks. Its clean, crisp look gives any room dimension and style.
Love the look of beadboard, but don’t have the room to add it to a small guest bath? Update a small bathroom by incorporating beadboard to the vanity cabinet. Paint it a rich color and it adds a nice pop to the otherwise generic space. This is a relatively simple project with dramatic results.
If you are wanting to use beadboard to create a more contemporary look, you can try this. Apply the beadboard wainscoting and keep it a traditional white. However, above it paint the walls a contemporary cool gray. Leave about a foot to 18 inches at the top of the wall and paint that and the ceiling a light blue. This looks absolutely gorgeous and creates a more contemporary twist on a traditional idea.
Another way to bring beadboard wainscoting from the 17th century into the 21st is to paint them a trendy color and pair the cabinets with modern backsplash materials. Imagine a laundry room with beadboard cabinets painted olive gray. Add an earthy stone mosaic backsplash tile and the look and feel become contemporary.
For a visibly different look, install the beadboard horizontally. Add a textured, weathered wood mirror and rustic furniture. This works well with the texture that beadboard provides on the wall. Paint the beadboard a driftwood gray, and you have created a relaxing feel.
